Pros

Quick Blade Access – One flick of the finger and you have a razor-sharp blade at your disposal. You don’t even have to extend the blade to cut rope; just use the notch.

Great for Everyday Carry EDC – It comes with 8 tools and the prybar is very cool! I’m constantly prying things apart with my knife. This is a much better alternative.

No Need for a Sheath – This tool is designed to be carried in your pocket, so you don’t need a sheath. We wish it had a pocket clip though.

8 Tools – You get some pretty useful tools in this one. I pry something every single day and this makes the job easier. The large and small drivers make life much easier as you don’t have to carry a lot of tools. It helps with daily tasks.

Razor Sharp Every Time – Utility blades provide razor-sharp blades every time. You just replace them once they dull and blades are cheap and can be found anywhere.

Grippy – Gerber took great care in the design and feel of the Prybrid. It fits nicely in your hand and gives you immediate grip. You don’t want your hand to slip while cutting with a blade this sharp.

Cons

A Pocket Clip Would be Nice – It’s a little large to put in your jeans pocket if you’re already carrying a lot in there. Plus, the prybar could tear your jeans if you’re not careful.

Our Recommendation

If you use standard utility blades, but wish they could do a little more – the Gerber Prybrid was built for you. We like this tool because it can handle multiple tasks and the prybar was a deciding factor for us. I can’t tell how many times I’ve struggled to pry something with my pocket knife. I usually figure it out, but a prybar just makes life easier – but who carries one of those around? This tool if perfect for someone who works hard for a living.
